S961 is a selective, high-affinity peptide antagonist of insulin receptor (IR) with IC50 of 0.048 nM and 0.027 nM for human insulin receptor HIR-A and HIR-B respectively, >1000-fold selectivity over human insulin-like growth factor I receptor (IGF-IR).
S961 also shows high-affinity to Rat IR and Pig IR with IC50s of 0.056 nM and 0.084 nM in PEG-assay, respectively.
