Cyclothiazide (Doburil) is a positive allosteric modulator of the AMPA and kainate receptors that potentiates AMPA-mediated glutamate currents。
Cyclothiazide also acts as a GABAA receptor negative allosteric modulator, potently inhibiting GABAA-mediated currents。
Cyclothiazide induces robust epileptiform activity in rat hippocampal neurons both in vitro and in vivo.
