p32 inhibitor M36 is a novel small molecule inhibitor of p32 mitochondrial protein, binds directly to p32 and inhibits p32 association with LyP-1.
p32 inhibitor M36 inhibits glioma cell proliferation with IC50 of 7.3 uM under low glucose (2 mM) conditions.
p32 inhibitor M36 also is a potent inhibitor of patient-derived neurospheres with IC50 of 2.8 uM.
p32 inhibitor M36 selectively targets high p32 expressing cells, promotes an increase in lactate production resulting in media acidification.
