MSP20 is a potent, selective TRPV1 agonist with EC50 of 46 nM and Emax=78.24%, shows no agonist activity against TRPV3, TRPV4 and TRPM8 receptors.
MSP20 binds to the vanilloid site and a desensitized conformation of hTRPV1.
MSP20 induces reduction in ROS production in HaCaT and HUVEC cells exposed to glucose oxidase (GO).
MSP20-mediated neuroprotection seems to be strictly dependent on the canonical TRPV1 ion channel activation.
MSP20 exhibits robust and long-lasting antinociceptive activity with ex-vivo neuroprotective effects.
