SecA activator HSI#6 is a small molecule, specific and allosteric activator of SecA dependent secretion, binds onto SecA and allosterically activates the translocase with AC50 of 3.76 uM, activates the soluble, membrane-bound and at-translocation-site SecA states.

SecA activator HSI#6 is a small molecule, specific and allosteric activator of SecA dependent secretion, binds onto SecA and allosterically activates the translocase with AC50 of 3.76 uM, activates the soluble, membrane-bound and at-translocation-site SecA states.
HSI#6 (10 uM) has barely an effect on the basal, stimulates the membrane ATPase by ~3folds and no effect on the translocation.
HSI#6 has not affect the in vitro activity of other enzyme as DnaK, Alkaline phosphatase.
HSI#6 affects all forms of the enzyme; soluble, membrane-bound and 'at-translocation'.
HSI#6 enhances SecA dependent preprotein secretion, in vivo and in vitro.
HSI#6 enhances ADP release from SecA.
HSI#6 activates the translocase by modulating the intrinsic dynamics of SecA.
