SR 16157 (NSC 732011, HLX 801) is a dual-acting steroid sulfatase inhibitor (IC50=0.1 uM) and selective ERα modulator (SERM).
SR 16157 exerts STS inhibition and antiestrogenic effects, 10 times more potent than the antiestrogens SR-16137 and tamoxifen in cell growth and ERα function test in MCF-7 breast cancer cells.
SR 16157 displays profoundly improved ERα binding affinity and antiestrogenic effects on expression of estrogen-regulated genes.
