Pyrrophenone is a potent cPLA2α inhibitor with enzyme IC50 of 4.2 nM.
Pyrrophenone potently inhibits the arachidonic acid release, prostaglandin E2, thromboxane B2, and leukotriene B4 formation in human whole blood with IC50 of 24, 25, and 14 nM, respectively.
Pyrrophenone also showes dose-dependent inhibition for IL-1-induced PGE(2) synthesis in human renal mesangial cells with IC50 of 8.1 nM.
