PAC-1 is a small-molecule activator of procaspase-3 to caspase-3, induces apoptosis in cancerous cells, induces apoptosis in HL-60 cells with EC50 of 2.08 uM.
PAC-1 induces death in cells isolated from freshly resected colon tumors.
PAC-1 significantly retards tumor growth in mouse models of cancer.
PAC-1 strongly activates procaspase-3 in buffers that contain zinc.
