Limocitrin is a natural hydroxyflavan with anticancer activity against breast cancer and NK leukemia cell lines, induceds cellular death through ERK pathways in human oral squamous cell cancer.
Limocitrin limits the growth of breast cancer cells by suppressing cell survival factors such as AKT, Bcl-2, Bid, mTOR, PI3K, procaspases, and p70 S6 kinase, as well as by upregulating the expression of proteins linked to apoptosis.
