Licoflavone C is a prenyl-flavone extracted from Genista ephedroides and SARS-CoV-2 nsp13 inhibitor, block both SARS-CoV-2 nps13 unwinding and ATPase activities with IC50 of 1.34 uM and 24.6 uM respectively.
Licoflavone C is a unique dual SARS-CoV-2 nsp13 inhibitor with a ∼20-fold specificity for the nsp13-associated unwinding activity over the nsp13-associated ATPase activity.
Licoflavone C also a cap-dependent endonuclease inhibitor against severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV, EC50=1.85 uM).
Licoflavone C (20 mg/kg, i.v.) significantly reduced tissue viral loads in SFTSV-challenged mouse model.
Licoflavone C also exhibits broad-spectrum inhibition on several NSV CENs (HRTV, GTV, and LCMV) besides SFTSV.
