IMT1B (LDC203974) is a first-in-class specific inhibitor of mitochondrial transcription that target the human mitochondrial RNA polymerase (POLRMT).
IMT1B exhibits antiproliferative activity in A2780 cells with IC50 of 138 nM.
IMT1B is well-tolerated in mice, and suitable for in vivo use.
IMT1B does not cause OXPHOS dysfunction or toxicity in normal tissues, despite inducing a strong anti-tumour response in xenografts of human cancer cells.
