ICA-1S is a specific, allosteric inhibitor of protein kinase C-iota (PKC-ι).
ICA-1s (2.5 uM) decreases cell proliferation of SK-MEL-2 and MeWo by 46%.
ICA-1S is stable, shows low toxicity, and is a potential therapeutic for prostate carcinoma tumors.
ICA-1S significantly reduced total and phosphorylated PKC-ι while having no effect on PKC-ζ in melanoma cells.
ICA-1S induces significant increase of E-cadherin and RhoA while significantly decreasing Vimentin, phospho-Vimentin and Par6.
ICA-1S (1 uM) decreases PKC-ι mRNA levels in SK-MEL-2 cells and 30% in MeWo cells.
