GPR17 antagonist compound 978 (NCGC00423978) is a selective GPR17 antagonistwith IC50 of 6.6 μM, 2.3 μM and 6.1 μM in β-arrestin recruitment, calcium mobilization and cAMP accumulation assays, respectively.
Compound 978 attenuated GPR17 signaling and promoted gut hormone, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), secretion in enteroendocrine cells.
