Cucurbitacin E (α-elaterin) is a strong antifeedant natural compound with the ability to disrupt cell actin and cell adhesion, induces CRC G2/M phase arrest via cell division cycle gene 2 (CDC2) downregulation and dissociation of the cyclin B1/CDC2 complex.
Cucurbitacin E inhibits cell survival/proliferation of primary CRC cell lines.
Cucurbitacin E-induced cell cycle arrest in CRC cells occurs via a mechanism other than the accumulation of intracellular ROS.
Cucurbitacin E induces accumulation of G2/M phase in CRC cells.
Cucurbitacin E induces G2/M arrest in CRC cells via integration of GADD45 γ with CDC2.
Cucurbitacin E also induces PANoptosis in adrenocortical carcinoma cells in a ZBP1-dependent manner.
