Nrf2 activator AI-2 is a small-molecule inducer of the antioxidant response element (ARE) that activates and stabilizes Nrf2 by covalently modifying Keap1.
AI-2 exhibits approximately 10-fold higher potency in Nrf2 activation and expression of NQO1 relative to AI-1.
AI-2 is an useful pharmacological probe for investigating the molecular details of the cellular antioxidant response.
